Materials
Brass rings and thread.
- 23 mm brass ring. Thread = DMC Perle cotton size 8, shades 644 (Greeny grey) and 926 (blue).
- 32 mm brass ring. Thread = DMC Perle cotton size 5, shades 954 (green) and 445 (pale yellow).
- 23 mm brass ring. Thread = DMC Perle cotton size 8, shade 926 (bluey grey). Star version.
- 23 mm brass ring. Thread = Caron Watercolours, 3 ply cotton split into single plies. Colour: Dawn. (Pale pinks and blues).
Continuing with variety of threads, mainly DMC Perle cotton sizes 8 and 5, and Finca Perle cotton size 12.
Notes
Also called Zwirnknopfe buttons. Very effective and not too difficult.
1, 2 and 4 are Austrian Shirtlace buttons in the book. 3 is Star Shirtlace.
Found instructions in video slightly different to those in the book, so mainly followed the video.
Easier to see end result on larger button size - not surprisingly.
