Thick Red Hat x 2

Started: 29th October 2011
Finished: 5th November 2011

Pattern

The Best Guy Hat Ever by Brenda K. B. Anderson. Interweave Crochet, Fall 2011.

Materials

Patons UK With Wool DK - Red (0.5 skeins)

5 mm hook

Notes

Makes a lovely stretchy hat. Easy to crochet once I got the hang of turning without a turning stitch. Stitch markers were essential!
Photos make the hat look a bit taller & thinner than it really is. Also, neither are quite the right shade of red. It’s a sort of cherry red.

Once I finished the previous hat I carried straight on with another to use the rest of the ball of yarn. Not so many train journey’s on the horizon to finish this one off, though.
Only did 8 repeat sections rather than 9, as it would have been too wide otherwise!
Slightly larger hook made the hat even squashier and stretchier - lovely.
Even looked good when I put it over the tea pot. I may make another one to use as a tea cozy!

One went to charity, the other is being used by Daniel.
